2013-2014 College of Science International Scholarships at Swansea University in UK

The College of Science at Swansea University is offering small number of scholarships for the students of India, China and Nigeria. These scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate program in various disciplines. Each scholarship is worth £2500 which will be used towards international tuition fees. The closing date to apply for the scholarships is 1st July 2013.

-MSc Advanced Computer Science with the option of a specialism in one of five different areas:  Software Technology, Human Computer-Interaction, Visual Computing, and Safe & Secure Systems
-MSc Computer Science
-MRes Visual Computing
-MRes Logic and Computation
-MRes Computing and Future Interaction Technologies
-A range of MSc by Research degrees in Computer Science
-MA Human Geography
-MSc Environmental Dynamics and Climate Change
-MSc Geographic Information and Climate Change
-MRes Urban Studies
-MRes Media Geographies
-MRes Social Theory and Space
-A range of MSc by Research degrees in Geography
-MSc in Mathematics and Computing for Finance
-MSc Modelling, Uncertainty and Data
-MRes Stochastic Processes – Theory and Application

Course Level: The scholarships are available for pursuing master’s degree.

Eligibility:-Scholarships are available only to new postgraduate applicants who are non-UK/EU categorized students from China, India and Nigeria.
-Applicants should hold a minimum of a 2.1 degree (or equivalent)
-Applicants should have already applied formally to the University for a place on one of College’s postgraduate programmes
-Please note that applicants progressing from ICWS are not eligible to apply for a College of Science International Scholarship
-Applicants must enrol on a course in the College for the first time in September.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Scholarships are available to new non-UK/EU students from China, India and Nigeria.

Scholarship Description: The College of Science has a small number of postgraduate scholarships available to new non-UK/EU students from China, India and Nigeria. If it is deemed necessary for a scholarship holder to suspend their studies, the scholarship will be held and carried forward to the year of resumption of studies and the candidate will be expected to pay their personal contribution on a pro-rata basis. If in view of the Head of College a scholarship holder’s progress is deemed to be unsatisfactory, the scholarship may be withdrawn.  A scholarship may also be withdrawn on grounds of failure to comply with any of the conditions attached to the award.  The candidate may be required to repay to the College any award which has been made, either in whole or in part, as determined by the College.  If the scholar feels that such a withdrawal is unjustified, s/he may appeal in writing to the Head of College within 15 working days of the date of notification.
What does it cover?  Each scholarship is worth £2500 to be offset against international tuition fees.

Notification: Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by the end of June.
